Constitution
PREAMBLE
We, the undersigned, being desirous to secure for ourselves the pleasures and benefits of the association of persons commonly interested in amateur radio, by furthering better cooperation among its members, developing individual efficiency, furthering the interest of radio in the general community, do hereby constitute ourselves the New Bern Amateur Radio Club, Inc., and do enact this constitution as our governing law.
ARTICLE I - MEMBERSHIP
All persons interested in amateur radio shall be eligible for membership. Membership shall be by application and election in accordance with terms set forth in the New Bern Amateur Radio Club, Inc. by-laws.
ARTICLE II - OFFICERS
Section 1. The officers of the New Bern Amateur Radio Club, Inc. shall be President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Officer and Trustee.
Section 2. The officers shall be elected for a term of one year by the members present at the regular November meeting and will be installed at the next regular meeting. The vote may be by ballot.
Section 3. Vacancies occurring between elections must be filled by special elections at the first regular meeting following such vacancy.
Section 4. An officer may be removed from office by a two-thirds vote of the members present at a regular business meeting after written notice to the entire membership ten days prior to said meeting.
ARTICLE III - MEETINGS
The by-laws shall provide for regular and special meetings. At the meetings, twenty percent of the paid membership shall constitute a quorum.
ARTICLE IV - DUES
The New Bern amateur Radio Club, Inc,. by provision in the by-laws, may levy upon the general membership such dues or assessments as shall be deemed necessary for the business of the organization within its objects as set forth in the preamble.
ARTICLE V - RULES OF ORDER
Robert's Rules of Order shall govern all proceedings.
ARTICLE VI - AMENDMENTS
This constitution or by-laws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of members present at a regular business meeting. Proposals for amendments shall be submitted in writing at a regular meeting, and shall be held over and voted on at the next regular meeting, provided the entire membership has been notified in writing, setting forth in full any proposed amendment or revision to the Constitution and/or By-laws, ten days prior to said meeting.
